Bern GAA Opening Party
We started out with a bang! Great turnout at our sponsor`s The Old City Irish Pub in Bern. Thank you Mark! We were honored by the Irish Ambassador Aoife McGarry with her lovely entourage, as well as Kevin Power from Zurich GAA, who has supported us in many ways during the foundation, Andy Cavanagh from Geneva GAA, who travelled a long way to get here, as well as Fabian Dürmüller, the founder of Midland GAC, our former Solothurn based GAA club who so generously gave us a solid foundation to build upon! We are also very grateful to The Lorcans, fittingly a Swiss-Irish duo playing Irish Folk, who heated up the atmosphere with fiery skill and spirit! Many thanks go out to Tony Bass, the GGE Development officer, who helped us with the GAA affiliation. Lastly, my thanks go out to all our officers (our treasurer Mike, our secretary Dominik, our PR officer Ray, our player`s representative Barry, our sponsoring officer Benny, as well as Meabh, Ray Cathal, Orla, Chiara, Barry and Owen for taking on trainer roles for hurling, camogie and Gaelic football. Thank you everybody for writing GAA history with us!
